Minister of Labor provides incentive payments to the unions entering the collective agreement

  • Last updated:2021-10-18

In order to encourage both the labor and the management to conclude collective agreement, Minister of Labor provides incentive payments to the unions entering the collective agreement in this year (2016), and applications hereof are accepted from May 9, 2016 (the application form can be downloaded in “Minister of Labor website—Business Area (Labor Relation)” (www.mol.gov.tw)).

In practice, the union often needs to spend huge manpower and resources, from collecting information, elaborating the draft of collective agreement, and then bargaining, to signing the collective agreement, and then negotiating, in order to carry out the collective agreement, and it often needs to take the time of range from a few months to several years. Therefore, to encourage and support the union to sign a collective agreement, Minister of Labor released “Implementation Directions of Labor Incentives for Unions That Signed a Collective Agreement”, and gave the incentive payments to the union who sign collective agreement from January 1, 2016 to November 30, 2016.  In addition, in order to encourage the higher union assisting its subordinate unions to sign a collective agreement, Ministry of Labor will also give appropriate reward to the higher union.
