The “Regulations for Handling Complaints of Workplace Sexual Harassment by Local Competent Authorities” were promulgated and will go into effect on March 8, 2024.

President Tsai has announced the enactment of the “Minimum Wage Act” through the passage of a special law. This move aims to enhance the framework of the minimum wage review mechanism and ensure the government's commitment to safeguarding the economic well-being of low-income workers. The law took effect on January 1, 2024 after approval by the Executive Yuan.

The Bureau of Labor Insurance of the MOL announced the implementation of the “2024 Labor Insurance Insured Relief Loan”, the maximum loan amount for each eligible applicant is NT$100,000, and the application period is from January 5, 2024 to January 19, 2024.

Amendments were made to the “Enforcement Rules of the Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Act” concerning several key points. The amendments include clarifications regarding the reporting dates and methods for mandatory insurance for government social welfare service units managed by hired personnel working at village (borough) offices, specifying the procedures for adding, withdrawing, and transferring insurance coverage, as well as adjustments to the calculation basis, disbursement, and repayment procedures for occupational accident prevention and rehabilitation funds. These changes are intended to align with practical operational requirements and enhance the rights and interests of insured individuals and policyholders.

The interest rate for the loan period for the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Labor Insurance Insured Relief Loan was announced to be 2.04% per annum starting from the first business day in January 2024 (January 2, 2024).
