The Council of Labor Affairs have announced a press release in response to the embezzlement at the Voluntary Service Organization at Hualien County, which conducted the ‘Diverse Employment Promotion Program’ for the Council of Labor Affairs, as reported in the newspaper. The Council also carried out further examination on any misconduct during the inspection process. It has been announced that the head of the Hualian Employment Service Center has been transferred to a different post and further investigation has been continued to trace any responsibilities in order to carry out disciplinary actions. 

The Council reiterate that it is their aim to provide care for the unemployed of the minority groups through the operation of ‘Diverse Employment Promotion Program’. The Council also emphasize that they have opened up many local job opportunities for minority groups such as the elderly with the cooperation of the government and local organizations under this program. The extent of the influence is not only the support for more than 50 thousand families in the past five years, but also the public’s recognition and care for the nation. This contribution cannot be ignored. Therefore for minority of those organizations, which did not carry out the operation according to the regulations, the Council will absolutely fulfil strict inspection following regulations. The Council will also continue to implement inspection to enable smooth operation of the program.
