Labor Standards Act is enacted in the hope of regulating the minimum standards of labor conditions, securing labor rights, strengthening employer-employee relations, and facilitating social and economic development.
Labor Standards Act has already facilitated the protection of labor rights and the promotion of economic development. It has already regulated labor rights including labor contract, wages, working hours, rest, leaves, child labor and female labor protection, retirement, occupational hazard compensation, etc. In addition, penalties are defined in terms of violations of the Act. Depending on the severity of violation, imprisonment, detention, forfeit, fines, etc. will be penalized to ensure compliance of laws and regulations of the employers.
