Any employee hired by an employer, as promulgated by the central competent authority, other than those under Paragraph 1, Article 6 of the Act (any domestic worker who is a R.O.C. national, any caregiver who is a R.O.C. national, any principal investigator hired for a research project funded by any government agency or institution, or any person working as a research assistant), any employer actually engaging in labor work, or any seafarer hired by a foreign employer and who is a member of a seafarer’s union or shipmasters’ association may also enroll in the Labor Occupational Accident Insurance.
